We encourage people wanting a divorce to exhaust all means of reconciliation.  We require evidence from our clients that reasonable measures for reconciliation have been made before filing such cases. This is particularly true where children are involved. We know by our many successes in seeing families come together that our professional responsibility is to resist making "divorce easy".

Our belief is that a marriage relationship is sacred and the commitments made in the marriage should not be allowed to be broken easily, absent extreme circumstances. Our focus is to encourage people to rehabilitate their families, not just for the sakes of their children, but primarily for their own benefit.

Bob Moore has successfully handled an estimated 1,000 divorce or divorce related cases during the past 42 years.  He has been involved in divorces where the parties divorcing exchanged books and poetry, hugged and wept as they left the Courtroom. And, at the other extreme, an unusual case where on the weekend prior to a trial, the adverse party killed Mr. Moore's client and himself, with a pistol in their hom ein front of their fourteen (14) year old son.  Instead of going to Trial the following Monday, Mr. Moore attended a "double casket" burial service for the parties.  That case marked a new beginning in Mr. Moore's handling of Family Law problems.

All variations of divorce litigation between these two (2) extremes have been confronted by Mr. Moore, including out of state decrees involving custody disputes.

Some of the divorce cases have been contentious with respect to child custody issues, defending against Children's Protective Services concerning false allegations of sexual abuse by one of the parents; obtaining Protective Orders; court orders to require DNA Testing where the issue of paternity is present; obtaining Temporary Orders and Temporary Restraining Orders; and structuring Property Settlement Agreements where children are involved that will effect cooperation between the divorcing parents in a way that minimizes the negative impact of the divorce on their children.

In divorces where children are involved, the clients are only accepted who are willing to place their children's interests on an equal priority with their own.  We encourage Mediation prior to litigation, Mediation during litigation, and Mediation for Post-Divorce legal issues, even though we file Motions to Modify Divorce Decrees for a variety of issues, including Change of Custody and Support Reduction.

Our firm's philosophy is that if divorce is absolutely necessary, that it must be done in as gentle a manner as is possible and to help soothe the existing emotional problems that have developed between the parties and their children.  Our objective is to legally separate the property and the emotions in a way that will allow each party to maintain their individual dignity.  Directions are given to our clients for therapeutic services where they can seek counsel and advice to make changes in their lives that will aid and support them in making better choices in any subsequent relationships, and to heal to the best extent possible, the adverse impacts from the divorce.
